ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
Perry has its roots firmly planted in the three counties of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, its production dates back hundreds of years. In the seventeenth century perry was very highly valued, kept for special guests only. Single trees yield huge crops and farms would only need one or two to produce sufficient perry for its workforce. The trees can live for over 300 years, but sadly numbers are in decline. Buying in our perry pears from our neighbouring farms saves these trees from the axe and through raising the awareness of ‘proper’ perry we are safeguarding the skills and traditions of perry making in the shires.
